While the AGM is an important part of the night, it will be brief, leaving plenty of time to catch up with fellow club members and enjoy some good company.\nEvent Details:\n\nDate: Wednesday, 9th October 2024\nLocation: Suburbs Club Room, Stoke (142 Saxton Road)\nTime: 7:00 pm start\nPrize Draw: Be in to win a free registration to the Nelson Summer Sea Swim Series (drawn on the night).\n\nKey Club Matters to Be Discussed:\nThis year, we have some important decisions to make regarding the future of our club due to changes in the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. The AGM will include:\n\nA decision on whether to reregister as an Incorporated Society.\nApproval of a new, compliant constitution.\nAppointment of committee members and a contact person.\n\nThe committee has already put in the hard work to draft a new constitution, which we’ll need to formalise at the meeting. You can view the draft here on our website, and we welcome any feedback prior to the AGM. If you’re interested in getting more involved, we’re always looking for volunteers and new committee members—reach out to any current committee member to express your interest.\nGuest Speaker: Hamish Neill\nAfter the formalities, Hamish Neill will take the floor. Hamish, a local legend in the swimming community, will share his experience of completing a 20km swim around Great Keppel Island in Australia. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just love a good story, Hamish’s insights into training, travel, and adventure are sure to inspire.\nSocialise, Snack, and Enjoy\nOnce the AGM wraps up, it’s time to relax with snacks and drinks.
