DESCRIPTION:Sunday 4th of February 2024 (Rescheduled New Date!)\nRace Starts 9:00AM\nLocation: Rabbit Island\nHere’s a chance for the serious triathletes to get down and dirty in a real race.\nIt’s also a chance for those new to the sport and who are happy to be back in the pack to race over a distance of their choice. For non-swimmers, there are duathlon options over two distances.\nRace Day Schedule:\n\n8:00AM Check-in and bike racking opens\n8:45AM Check-in closes (not late entries or check-ins after this time)\n8:50AM Race briefing (ALL competitors MUST attend the race briefing!)\n9:00AM Race Start\n\nFollowing the race, a barbecue will be held, free to competitors. There will also be a small prizegiving (spot prizes only)\nRace Options:\n\nLong Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km Road bike, 5km run\nShort Triathlon: 250m swim, 10km Road bike, 2.5km run\nLong Duathlon: 5km run. 20km Road bike, 2.5km run\nShort Duathlon: 2.5km run, 10km Road bike, 2.5km run\n\n\nThe swim will be set on a flat triangular course, with the 250m course just taking in the base of the triangle.\nThe bike will be a straight flat road bike course.\nThe run is on a 2.5km loop, mostly sealed, but with an unsealed section along the old road above the beach.\n\nPayment Options :\n\nPay online Adult or Team non-member ($30) -select this option to pay online either single adult entry or team entry.\nPay online Adult Tri Club member ( http://2025.nelsontriclub.co.nz/membership/ ) ($20) -select this option to pay online and receive the club discount, must be a Nelson Tri Club member.\nPay online Student U18 non-member ($15) -select this option to pay online and receive School Student (U18) discount.\nPay online Student U18 Tri Club member ( http://2025.nelsontriclub.co.nz/membership/ ) ($10) -select this option to pay online and receive the U18 School Student club discount, must be a Nelson Tri Club member.\nPay at event (bring cash on the day of race) -select this option to pay cash on the day of the race. No discounts for this option.\n\nNote to encourage pre-race entries, race day entries will attract a 50% extra penalty and no discounts apply. If you’re uncertain about whether to compete and wish to avoid the late entry penalty, please enter online, selecting ‘Pay at Event‘ under the Payment option. Participants are asked not to use aero bars if they find themselves in a drafting situation and should not attempt to draft if they are unfamiliar with the skills required.\nThe course is not closed to traffic. It is the participants’ responsibility to keep left and ride single file unless passing.\nEntrants under 18 take part at their parent’s/guardian’s discretion.\nIt is the participants’ responsibility to make themselves aware of the race rules; the racecourses; to attend the compulsory race briefing and to participate in a safe and responsible manner.\n\n\n\n
