DESCRIPTION:\nKicking off the 2025–2026 Nelson Tri Club SeasonDate: Sunday 17th AugustLocation: Greenslade Park, Rabbit & Rough IslandsRace Start: 10:00 AM\nWe’re kicking off the 2025–2026 season with a brand new race on the calendar — a road bike duathlon set in the beautiful surroundings of Rabbit and Rough Islands.\nThis is a great event for seasoned duathletes and first-timers alike. Whether you’re returning to racing or looking to try something new, come along and start the season with us in style!\n\nEvent Overview\nThis duathlon will be based around a central transition area opposite Greenslade Park on Rabbit Island. The run takes place on Rough Island trails, and the bike leg follows the smooth road linking Rabbit and Rough Islands.\nChoose between two race distances:\nLong Course\n\n\nRun 4 km → Road Bike 20 km → Run 4 km\n\n\nShort Course\n\nRun 2 km → Road Bike 10 km → Run 2 km\n\n\nRace Day Schedule\n\n9:00 AM – Check-in opens\n9:45 AM – Check-in closes and compulsory race briefing for ALL competitors begins\n10:00 AM – Race start\n\nAfter the race, enjoy a free BBQ for all competitors, and hang around for our spot prize draw.\n\nEntry Fees & Payment Options\nWhen registering on Webscorer, please choose one of the following options:\n\nPay online Adult or Team ($20) -select this option to pay online either single adult entry or team entry.\n\nPay online 20% Club Discount ($16) -select this option to pay online and receive the club discount, must be a Nelson Tri Club member.\n\nPay online 50% School Student Discount ($10) -select this option to pay online and receive School Student (U18) discount.\n\nPay at event (bring cash on day of race) -select this option to pay cash on the day of the race. No discounts for this option.\n\nImportant: To encourage pre-race online entries, race day entries ($30) will attract a 50% extra penalty and no club discounts apply. If you’re uncertain about whether to compete and wish to avoid the late entry penalty, please enter online, selecting ‘Pay at Event’ under the Payment option.
