You could have thrown a blanket over the first four swimmers to reach Tahuna Beach after the 2km swim from the Nelson Yacht Club in the 40th annual Eyebright Mile on Sunday.
Hayden Squance crossed the line first in 25 minutes and 18 seconds, four seconds ahead of Connor Kemp, with two second gaps back to Oxford Bayley and Ben Marshall.

Hamish Neill, second woman Nia Linyard and Fraser Hill rounded out the top ten.
Lilly Claridge, Carys McNabb and Christina Harris were the next women to finish.
In the short swim option, the 1300m from the Richardson St Steps, 14-year-old Sam Trass won from Morgan Lumsden, Phoebe Diamond and Ara Wyatt.
