Rylock Swim Series, Race three, November 30, 2023

Things started out a little confused, with the buoys in unexpected places, but the course turned out to be a good one.

Hayden Squance swam an excellent tactical race, lurking behind Terry Bone most of the way, but getting on the inside as they turned the final orange buoy, winning by a touch as they hit the ramp.

William Seymour, 17, swimming without a wetsuit, was a surprise contender for third, ahead of Hamish Neill. William has a great record in the pool so it was no surprise for him to be at the front of the field in a rare appearance in open water swimming.

Keshia Linyard took ninth overall to lead the women’s field from Sophie Pahl and Nia Linyard.

Here’s the results.
