Tahunanui Beach put on a stunning morning for today’s Aquathon, with clear skies, a calm sea, and a much kinder forecast than last year’s windy edition. The smooth conditions made for fast racing and a great atmosphere among our 33 participants, who represented a wide range of ages and experience levels.
Both the short and long run–swim–run courses saw strong performances.
In the short course (1km run / 300m swim / 1km run), the top three were:
- 1st – The Shredders (team) 15:14.4
- 2nd – Styles (team) 16:48.8
- 3rd – Riley Guildford 18:57.6
In the long course (2km run / 1km swim / 2km run), the top three were:
- 1st – Low Key W Switzerland (team) 31:46.8
- 2nd – Sam Trass 35:33.3
- 3rd – Nia Linyard 37:32.6

A big thank‑you to Catch 22 Café & Bar for sponsoring the event, and to all our volunteers who helped make the morning run smoothly. Many participants headed to Catch 22 afterwards for nibbles, drinks, and a relaxed spot‑prize draw — the perfect way to wrap up a summer race.
Our next event is next Sunday, 25 January: Chia Sisters Olympic Triathlon, Duathlon & Multisport Details here: https://nelsontriclub.co.nz/events/chia-sisters-olympic-tri-multisport-2026/
See you at the next start line.
