Really interesting swim tonight. We deviated from the normal triangle south of the ramp, heading south to the rusty boat, then to the dolphin. Things changed after that, as we rounded a couple of buoys, ending up by the wharf before the return against quite a fierce tide for a swim of about 1.35km (watches vary), but it felt longer. …

Beautiful night. We cruised across to the dolphin in perfect conditions, then to a buoy off Rocks Rd. Not a sign of the jolly jellies. The cunning devils waited until swimmers were within a couple of hundred metres of the finish before pouncing en masse. Few escaped the carnage.
