NEW event: Fulton Hogan Road Bike Duathlon 2025

Kicking off the 2025–2026 Nelson Tri Club Season

Location: Greenslade Park, Rabbit & Rough Islands
Race Start: 10:00 AM

We’re kicking off the 2025–2026 season with a brand new race on the calendar — a road bike duathlon set in the beautiful surroundings of Rabbit and Rough Islands.

This is a great event for seasoned duathletes and first-timers alike. Whether you’re returning to racing or looking to try something new, come along and start the season with us in style!

Event Overview

This duathlon will be based around a central transition area opposite Greenslade Park on Rabbit Island. The run takes place on Rough Island trails, and the bike leg follows the smooth road linking Rabbit and Rough Islands.

Choose between two race distances:

Long Course

• Run 4 km → Road Bike 20 km → Run 4 km

Short Course

• Run 2 km → Road Bike 10 km → Run 2 km

Race Day Schedule

• 9:00 AM – Check-in opens
• 9:45 AM – Check-in closes and compulsory race briefing for ALL competitors begins
• 10:00 AM – Race start

After the race, enjoy a free BBQ for all competitors, and hang around for our spot prize draw.

Entry Fees & Payment Options

When registering on Webscorer, please choose one of the following options:

• Pay online Adult or Team ($20) -select this option to pay online either single adult entry or team entry.
  
• Pay online 20% Club Discount ($16) -select this option to pay online and receive the club discount, must be a Nelson Tri Club member.
  
• Pay online 50% School Student Discount ($10) -select this option to pay online and receive School Student (U18) discount.
  
• Pay at event (bring cash on day of race) -select this option to pay cash on the day of the race. No discounts for this option.

Important: To encourage pre-race online entries, race day entries ($30) will attract a 50% extra penalty and no club discounts apply. If you’re uncertain about whether to compete and wish to avoid the late entry penalty, please enter online, selecting ‘Pay at Event’ under the Payment option. Should you not compete, no charge will be made.

Note: Nelson Triathlon & Multisport Club has a NO REFUND policy on club events.

Please note:

• Drafting is allowed on the bike leg. Aero bars should not be used while drafting.
• Do not attempt to draft unless you’re confident in group riding.
• The course is open to traffic – keep left and ride single file unless overtaking.
• Under 18s may enter with a parent or guardian’s consent.
• All competitors must:
