Windows & Doors Endurance Series
The Rylock Windows & Doors Endurance Series of four longer swims will provide an extra challenge, particularly for those swimmers targeting the Banana Boat Ocean Swim Series, held nationally. For details on the Banana Boat Series, click here
If you want to register for the series or individual races click the button below. All competitors must register online no later than the night before the swim. Note the registration for the endurance series is different from the Thursday night swims.
Individual races:
Race 1 – Opening Splash, starts at 10:15am Sunday December 1st 2024, and is a 2km swim
Opening Splash is a reversal of the Eyebright Mile. Start at Tahunanui Beach and finish at the yacht club ramp. Short option, start at Richardson St steps, swim to the yacht club, 600m
All competitors must check-in at Tahunanui Beach by 10:00am.
Race 2 – Eyebright Mile, starts at 9:45am Sunday December 29, 2024, and is a 2km swim –40th Anniversary swim!
This is the traditional race from the Nelson Yacht Club ramp to Tahunanui. We also have a shorter option (1300m) from Richardson St steps, starting TBC.
All competitors must check-in first at the yacht club by 9:30am.
Race 3 – Rylock Windows & Doors Ironman Challenge, 3.8km 8.00am, Sunday January 26, 2025
Swimmers head north from Tahunanui Beach, will reach the dolphin navigation marker at about high tide, turning south to follow the southeast toe of Haulashore Island around to the second navigation marker to the south of the island, then back to the beach. Competitors in the short swim of 1300m will walk to the Richardson St steps, swimming straight back to Tahunanui Beach, starting approx 30 minutes after the 3.8km race.
All competitors must check-in at Tahunanui Beach by 7.45am.
Race 4 – Rylock Windows & Doors Challenge, 5km time 10.00am, Sunday March 30, 2025
Starting from Tahunanui beach. Course to be confirmed.
