We wrapped up the open‑water swim season this morning with Race 4 of the Rylock Windows & Doors 5km Challenge, the final and most demanding event in this year’s series.

To my fellow pruney people, that they say is a wrap good people! Points will be tallied, protests (inevitably) will be lodged, and chocolate will be awarded, And just like that, it’s done for another season.
Neoprene lovers of Nelson (and beyond) unite! as our last blast of summer is upon us and we have that one last chance to grab a whole years’ worth of smug bragging rights over our colleagues, work friends, family, and random stranger foolish enough to make eye contact at the supermarket!
This morning’s Ironman Challenge was treated to beautiful conditions. Under a clear blue sky, swimmers set off at 9am with the tide pushing in toward high at 9:27am.
My fellow rubber heads, it is with a heavy heart that I remind you all that there are only two more swims to go before the end of the season.
