A good turnout of 165 swimmers on a near-perfect night, marred only by a strong current and a very slight chop.

Race one of the Clements Endurance Series is on Sunday. The Opening Splash, 2km from the beach to the yacht club, or 600m from the Richardson St Steps to the yacht club. Everyone needs to sign up on the beach from 10.45am and be present at race briefing about 11.15. The race starts on the beach at 11.30am, with those doing the short course walking or driving to the steps to start approx at noon – on the high tide.

The forecast isn’t brilliant, but doesn’t look like it’ll be windy.

We owe a lot to our team of race officials, but it’s a very small team. Would you like to join our crew on registration and timing? From time to time we’re short in this area and Sunday is one of those days. If you can help out, please email us at info@nelsontriclub.co.nz. It’s a friendly team and a very rewarding task. We’d welcome you with open arms.
