Beautiful day for a swim, sunny skies, high tide and calm seas.

Hayden Squance held off a determined challenge from Chris Smither of Blenheim, holding a six-second advantage at the finish. Continuing the Thursday night pattern, Terry Bone and Hamish Neill were next to run up the beach.

Another Blenheim swimmer, Jodie Lovell, was the first women to finish, ahead of Sophia Pahl and Jude Vincent.
