A challenging swim of 1300m. Sunstrike on the first leg and fairly choppy conditions on the next two kept swimmers focused.
Hayden Squance charged off to clinch the series with a five-second win over Blenheim swimmer Gus Marfell. Gus had to fight for the second position, just heading Terry Bone in the final lunge for the finish.
Lilly Claridge has no need to win any more races for the series victory, but she did it anyway, heading off Nia Linyard by 13 seconds. Keshia Linyard followed three seconds later.
