CANCELLED AGAIN!!!

From organiser Dick Bennison: “Based on the current weather conditions and the likelihood that there will be no improvement before this evening I have made the decision to abandon tonight’s swim. Three main reasons. 1 rain, 2 wind, 3 water quality.”

At 3pm it was most unpleasant down there. In addition to Dick’s comments, there’s a big swell running as well.

Just as summer seemed to be lasting forever, it came to a temporary halt last week. Fingers crossed for a normal resumption this week.

High tide is at 5.31pm, so plenty of water, although it’s one of the lowest high tides of the cycle. It’ll be flowing out a little by the time we swim, so chances are the swim will go out into the harbour from the start, returning along Rocks Rd.

There’s a threat of further rain – fingers crossed.

The cancellation of swim 12 means that season points will now be calculated on each swimmer’s best 11 swims. The rule is that season points are calculated on 66% of the total swims for the season and 66% of 17 is 11.333, which is rounded down to 11. Should we have the misfortune to go down to 16 swims, the season points will still be based on 11 swims, as 66% of 16 is 10.666, which would be rounded up to 11.
