We’ve come to expect tough swims and tonight’s was another in the same mould. At least no current was in evidence, but the wind from the north stirred up a decent maelstrom. On the positive side, we had one of the best starts this summer, with a start buoy giving a clear line close to shore making it easier for swimmers and officials.
Hayden Squance found it tough going, but still managed to finish the course of close to a kilometre nearly a minute ahead of Terry Bone and Hamish Neill, with Matt Hansen, Raphael Borborema, Abbey Smale and Sam Harman and Hayden Lockie close behind.
