It was an overcast but mild morning at Rabbit Island for the first race in the Shoe Clinic Mountain Bike Duathlon Series. Fortunately, the rain held off until the afternoon, allowing for a smooth and enjoyable event. With 69 participants, including individuals and teams, the day kicked off with a free Kids’ Try-a-Tri, creating a great family-friendly atmosphere.
In the Long Duathlon, Ethan Helliwell led the field, finishing in 1:12:38.9, followed by Leo O’Donnell in 1:15:31.2, and Aaran Walbron in 1:16:41.0.
The first female across the line in the Long course was Amanda Trass, with a time of 1:23:14.4.
In the Short Duathlon, Mitchell MacLachlan took the win in 41:50.8, ahead of William Richards (42:37.4) and Nia Linyard (44:01.0).
