The Shoe Clinic MTB Duathlon Series kicked off seamlessly at Rabbit Island’s Conifer Park on Sunday, April 28, 2024. It was a morning filled with mountain biking and trail running against the sunny backdrop of Conifer Park’s on Rabbit Island.
Competitors gathered for the first race of the series, with options available for both long and short distances, as well as a free race for kids under 12. We were thrilled to see a total of 66 competitors, including teams, participate in the race, and the turnout for the kids’ fun race was equally impressive, with approximately 19 enthusiastic youngsters taking part.
In the long duathlon category, Team, Fast Fun clinched the top spot, followed by Ethan Helliwell and Sam Durrant. Amanda Trass emerged as the first female finisher.
Kyle Ralfe secured victory in the short duathlon category, with Team, The Pink Prancing Ponies and Keshia Linyard following closely behind.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for the second race in the series, Shoe Clinic MTB Duathlon Series Race 2, taking place on Sunday, May 12th, at the new location Cable Bay Adventure Park. Participants who enter and take part in both races will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a $250 Brook shoes gift voucher at The Shoe Clinic.
