What a perfect day. Flat calm sea with an overcast sky that broke into full sunshine during the morning. More than 150 competitors swam, biked and ran their way to glory, with Waimea Intermediate winning the Port Nelson cup for the second consecutive year. It was a perfect way to start summer. A race of nine stages – swim, bike, run, swim, bike, run, swim, bike run. The swim was 200m, bike 6km, run 1km.
