Race 2 – Rylock Summer Swim Series, 20 November 2025

Another glorious evening in our little part of paradise with 116 swimmers choosing to give up their precious evening hours to showcase their athletic prowess, and/or secure another week of bragging rights in the workplace.

Blue September Swim – Race Report

The Blue September Swim kicked off our season with 32 swimmers braving 13°C water at the Nelson Yacht Club. Together we raised around $600 for prostate cancer on a stunning calm day. Congratulations to winner Eddie Swain (6:44.5) and all participants. Click for full results and upcoming events.

Rylock 5k challenge

It was a beautiful day on which to wrap up the season. Swimmers in the 5k race were pushed down to the Boathouse by a huge incoming tide. It was a tricky little swim with a twist at the end. The tide was coming from south to north. Tonight’s swim was a solid test over a 1300m course on a moderately strong outgoing tide. Rylock Series, Race 16, February 27, 2025

Interesting course, weaving in and out of the boats, and a surprising current on the leg towards the dolphin. Both races were dominated by fast young swimmers, Lucas Bell in the long course and Phoebe Diamond in the short.
