Swimmers and triathletes will be saddened to hear of the recent death of Colin Wragg, aged 73, pictured just two summers ago.
Colin and I were of a similar age, and had many fierce triathlon battles, with neither of us giving the other much leeway, but always enjoying the encounters..
He competed in triathlon world championships on the Gold Coast in 2009 and in Auckland in 2012. He also qualified for Budapest in 2010.
Colin was a staunch supporter of the Port Nelson swim series, competing over more than a decade. His death comes after a long illness. He is very much mourned and missed by his partner of 43 years Maxine Roberts and their two children, Emily and William.
Funeral details are yet to be confirmed.
