A swim of just over 1300m. There was a bit of current in the face over the 500m drag south parallel to Rocks Rd and a bit of choppiness and a side current to contend with on the second leg out into the harbour.
After that it was plain sailing back to the dolphin and on to the finish.
Harrison Dean had things his own way, swimming away from the field ahead of Terry Bone and Hamish Neill.
Lilly Claridge and Emily Chadderton continued their close battle at the top of the women’s standings, separated by only five seconds.
In the short race, Nia Linyard cruised on in the front of the field, with Keisha Old, Charlotte Taylor and Brett Ballard in her wake.
Last night we welcomed back Andrea O’Fee, one of our top swimmers of about a decade away. Andrea went on to swim Cook Strait, achieving the second-best women’s time on record. Here’s a story
