Feature photo: Keshia Linyard and Brianna Mckay – first to finish in the short swim

A lovely swim tonight – just over 1600m for the long course and about 800m for the short version.

Starting just after the low tide, there was very little current to fight on the first leg, although there was a strange push to the right approaching the dolphin.

Hayden Squance finished first although Terry Bone, feeling the benefit of his recent 30+km swim, was very close behind. Hamish Neill, another marathon swimmer was third, ahead of Austen Dean, first woman Sam Harman, Raphael Borborema, Eddie Swain, Emily Chadderton, Hayden Lockie and Ben Van Dyke bringing up to top ten. Denis Cooper and Matt Newberry led home the third woman (another marathon swimmer) Christina Harris.

In the short swim, Brianna Mckay and Keshia Linyard left the rest of the field behind, with Keisha Old and Dylan Bell next to finish, ahead of Charlotte Taylor, Reuben Scott and Nia Linyard, the first non-wetsuit finisher.
